Information Architecture
site mapS
Experienced in auditing and documenting site structure in order to improve information structure and user journey efficiency
example
As part of a full site redesign project, I completed a content audit and created an extensive site map to assess the existing content. The site was large and contained duplicated and historical content causing slow and convoluted user journeys. From here I was able to start re-architecting the content to improve user journeys and information structure, which later informed the site redesign.
Started with a live Post-it note board...
Post-its transformed into a comprehensive site map...
Then started re-organising and re-architecting...
New architecture then informed application structure

system structures
Experienced in creating new systems and products from the ground up, putting the user in the centre of those designs and structures.
example
Off the back of a service design exercise I completed for the Wealth Management team at Deutsche Bank, I performed a future-state analysis to understand how we could better meet the user needs and solve their current pain points.
This not only involved mapping out new user flows but adding new solutions or systems and demonstrating the architecture of those systems, or re-architecting existing solutions, to show how we could better accommodate the users.
Future-state information architecture maps of proposed systems
navigaton
Experience in reviewing, documenting and designing navigation architectures and solutions
example
At INQ Mobile, I designed a novel way to navigate between applications on the Android platform.
The design involved an in-depth investigation into the Android mobile framework and multitasking model in order to know what could be changed and how I could help users flip between different tasks easily. I had the opportunity to develop my motion design skills and work with the Fjord agency to help realise the design.
The design was patented in 2011.
Example
At Barclays, I mapped out a new navigation flow for the Public and Secure banking sites, taking into consideration user needs, behaviours, journeys and customer segmentations. Using this insight, I was able to develop design concepts to test with users.
